Maui was the youngest out  of  4. brothers Maui would argue with his brothers.His brother's didn't want to fish with him  and they would make up excuses.

Toast with honey

Me and my buddy made toast with honey it was yummy. First we washed our hands then we put the bread in the toaster.  When the bread was ready we took it out and spread the honey with the knife then we took a photo and then we ate it.

After morning tea we went to the hall because we went to cook for the whanau we had to sat on the mat for instructions. We went into groups and went to our tables. I was cutting the broccoli in to small pieces. I was watching. I saw Pepe poured the oil in and i put the garlic in. We took turns to put the spaghetti in the pot. Then it was ready to eat. When we  were eating it it was  delicious. Then we were cleaning. Then we sat on the mat and took a photo. We got the ingredients in a brown bag. Then we went to class and went  to get our bag.

What I did for Waitangi

 On waitangi my family and I went to the beach and have a bbq. We went to swim and when the bbq finished cooking we went back on shore and went to eat . it tasted  good

  On Friday room 8 made cookies. My cookie tasted very good.I enjoyed eating the chocolate biscuit with white icing  and sprinkles.

Today  I learnt about animals

From flowers to fruit

 It is about how flowers make fruit.The flower scatters seeds. I give it a 9/10 because I am learning new things about flowers and fruits.

The solar system

 The solar system is 4.571 billion years old.The sun is our closets star next to us. Venus is named after the roman goddess of love. Neptune is far away from the sun it must be very cold.

What is soil

One hand full of soil has  1.5 billion of bacteria.Clay soil can hold water well and can be rock hard. Sand clay  can water drains.Loam sand can usually dark  brown or even  black.Clay soil is made of tiny rocks.

Tread lightly caravan

We had lessons with the tread lightly caravan. We took photos with our promises on the plank.  My promise is  to turn off tap when I am brushing my teeth.

Dragons

Adjectives Red Verb Blue

A bright golden dragon staked for its prey.

The  long scaly dragon  saw a  white dragon.

My  happy  dragon was playful.

There  was a scary  dragon roaming around .

A strange dragon looked suspicious .

The lazy dragon was sleeping under the tree.

Their was a dumb dragon who  fell in the pond.

Te Oro

Today we went to Te oro, we walked there. It took long to walk there. It was a nice day. When we got there we went inside. Then a guy came and told us to sit down we talked about our rules because the people who was inside was setting up. Then they were finished and we had to take our shoes of . They were introducing  themselves. Then we went into our stations I went to the painting group witch was the year 5.  First we sketched  then we went outside and talked about a bird. We were given a rock to paint. We went back inside and painted it.  When we finished we sat down and we were talking about it in groups. Then we ate fruit and left.

Slime!

We made slime today. First put the glue ion a bowel. Next you put borax then you mix it with your hands then you put food colouring in.  After  you mix the food colouring in with your slime.  finally put it in a lunch bag and let it sit for a while. It felt slimy. My slime colour is light green.

Honey bees

                 Honey bees

The honeybees were flying around the hive. It had pollen all on its body and it had a  fluffy body, a pointy stinger and it made a buzzing noise.  I had never seen a beehive before. I felt nervous and scared standing there waiting to get a glimpse of the bees. My friend Moe looked happy to see the bees and my other friend Khin Lin looked at the honey. Seeing how people get honey for the first time made me realise it looked easy. Next time when I eat honey, I’m going to think about how the queen bee, how it  makes baby bees and how it can handle all the bees.

Samoan language week

We made lei's with straw and flowers it was a bit hard cause the hole was too small. we cut the straws and made it even, then we put the flower and then the straw together.  It took ages until  It was finished . And it  was colourful

How to make a samoan umu 

First you have to have dry wood and rub it until it gets on fire .

After you get dry coconut  leaves.

You get rocks from the river because some other rocks will explode .

Put some taro and Next put the palusami green banana then put rocks around it Next put the palusami. 

.Then we step on the edges to  stop the stem from going out. It takes 1 hour to cook 

.

Then make a basket to  give to the neighbours when you are waiting for the umu to cook  for an hour .

 Finally take the food to the neighbours and you can eat.

Pepper experiment.

 We have done an experiment. We had water , pepper and detergent. It shows how we wash our hands. First we filled up a bowel with water and then we put pepper in it. Lastly we had to dip our finger in the detergent .Then we put our finger in the bowel then the pepper went to the sides.
